Emma and James

Rustic wedding flowers-Yarra Valley

I recently had the pleasure of working with Emma and James. To create their dream rustic wedding flowers in the beautiful Yarra Valley region,The Farm https://thefarmyarravalley.com.au/
Emma is from New Zealand and James from Scotland which is where they met and fell in love.

Emma’s brief was rustic wedding flower. She wanted simple and elegant flowers with lots of texture and to represent both their home countries. So we chose a white and green colour scheme and I used beautiful ferns to represent New Zealand and blue thistle as it’s Scotland’s national emblem.

Emma also wanted white carnations because they remind her of her grandmother, when she used to grow them in her garden.
For Emma’s bouquet, I used a combination of greenery including beautiful dusty miller, minimal white flowers and kept it textural. Long draping ribbons finished off the bouquet.

For the ceremony,

I designed and hand made rustic twisted willow hoops with a combination of ferns and floral’s to add a unique touch and to create a talking point for their guests.
These made an elegant backdrop for the ceremony with tall vases of lush greenery and roses on either side of the barn which were then reused at the reception.
The buttonhole’s were kept simple and rustic finished off with twine.

And for the reception area the twisted willow hoops adorned the beams and added a whimsical feel while the tables had a group of mason jars, filled with greenery and white floral’s which were really versatile because they could be used on the bar and gift table as well as the guest tables.
This was a truly beautiful and rustic wedding with unique and elegant floral designs to complement the day!
